Are you overweight, out of shape, obese (fat) or morbidly obese?

IMPORTED FROM BLOG.COM

Let's talk about some of the differences when we are talking about being overweight...

When I am talking about changing your lifestyle I think it's important to know where you are starting from and what you should look at doing to change your current lifestyle. I am not a Doctor, but I am giving you my own opinions on this subject. You can take it or leave it. But please consult your physician if you are in the obese or morbidly obese category. If you are overweight or just out of shape...GET UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Let's break down where you currently are:

Are you 10-30 lbs over where you want to be? If that's the case, I'm going to classify you in the Out of Shape category.

Out of Shape - If you are here you have the best opportunity to really change your lifestyle much quicker with the prospect of greater long-term change.

If you are 40-75 lbs over where you want to be and over 5 ft tall, you are more than likely in the Overweight category.

Overweight - You are going to have to work at this one. If you start off strong and change your eating habits, maybe do a cleanse and exercise you will probably lose quite a bit of weight fast. But be careful, don't get frustrated when you all of a sudden slow down on how much you're losing. Stay focused, keep exercising and continue your healthy eating habits. You will see things really start to change for the better. You need to stay dedicated and committed, otherwise the weight will come back.

Are you 100+ lbs overweight? Can you still function, walk, pedal a bike, do stairs, push your self away from the table?!?! If this is you I'm putting you in the Obese category.

Obese - You need to see a doctor to see if you are physically able to exercise. And if you are, then it is ALL UP TO YOU! You will have a tough time of it, I am NOT going to lie to you and say it's going to be easy, you already know that. The good news is...things can change for you. :) You have to change how you eat, more than likely this is your BIGGEST problem. You did not get this way by eating lettuce and carrots; you got this way by eating really fatty, greasy, high-carb foods...and not small portions either would be my guess. Now you will pay the price for your behaviors over the years, you will need to completely change your eating habits. Low calories and low carbs (breads and such), start drinking LOTS of WATER! Get rid of all the soda in your life, not to mention you will need to watch your sodium intake. You are probably retaining a small lake of water inside your body. And above all else you will need to exercise! I don't care if you go on HMR diet, Weight Watch
er's, Nutri-system or whatever plan you decide, I honestly feel you need to get up and move and start exercising. You need to sweat, and I mean sweat a lot! You need to do something every single day, not once a week, not even 3 times a week, but something everyday. Doesn't mean you have to go to the gym everyday but it does mean getting up and moving, burn some calories and sweat. CHANGE YOUR LIFESTYLE!

If you are 100-300 lbs overweight, depending on your height, your are probably Morbidly Obese.

Morbidly Obese - If you fall in this category, obviously seek help from a doctor. You will have some options: HMR, Gastric bypass surgery and a few others. You can change things but you have a long very difficult road ahead of you. Once again, you will need to incorporate exercise into your daily routine and of course a complete overhaul of your eating habits and what you are putting into your body. It's not hopeless, DON'T EVER GIVE UP.
